Neighbourhood Commitments 2021/22

The City’s full-service facility at 6B-8 Aberdeen Street includes a ‘drop and run’ plus large volume processing capacity. Refunds are available via cash and scheme ID. An additional Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) will be installed on Roe Street, with cashless refunds via EFT direct to your account, with a scheme ID.

Ensuring Northbridge remains Perth’s premier entertainment precinct

The City has initiated Amendment No. 41 to the City Planning Scheme No. 2, proposing to create the Northbridge Special Entertainment Precinct.

This means new landowners will be notified they are in an entertainment precinct and noise-sensitive premises such as residential and short stay accommodation will need to be appropriately attenuated – with the aim of minimising noise complaints for nightlife businesses operators.

Proposed changes to Noise Regulations will enable entertainment venues who ‘opt in’ and obtain a Venue Approval to operate at higher noise levels than currently permitted, subject to conditions.

Urban Forrest Tree Planting

New tree planting in Lion Walk will enhance pedestrian amenity and support local cafés and alfresco areas.

Lighting up Mountain Terrace

The “Light it Up” public art program will focus on the entrance to Mountain Terrace, and will feature a dynamic, engaging lighting installation that beautifies the surrounding area and builds on the neighbourhood’s character, making it feel safe and welcoming.
